There are quite a few characters that Dwayne «The Rock» Johnson could play in the world of Mortal Kombat, but the most suitable one is already impossible. Decades after Mortal Kombat: Annihilation obliterated the chances of a long-running cinematic Mortal Kombat series, 2021 saw video games’ most famous warriors get a second chance on the big screen. Now that a sequel to Mortal Kombat has been confirmed, audiences can’t help but wonder about the characters and actors they would like to see in Mortal Kombat 2.
After Dwayne Johnson revealed that he would be involved in a brand-new video game adaptation, fans of the actor began to imagine all the game characters that The Rock could play — even the most unlikely ones. While The Rock was obviously not referring to Mortal Kombat, many would wish to see him get involved in the Netherrealm universe. It would not be the first time The Rock has starred in a video game adaptation, as Rampage brought the eponymous arcade game to the big screen.
