Fans of The Last of Us will have to wait a bit longer than expected as HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys has confirmed that the upcoming show will premiere in 2023 rather than 2022.
First revealed by Deadline, Bloys explains that shooting in Canada is still ongoing for The Last of Us and not to expect the show until 2023. Bloys doesn't give an estimated time for when shooting will finish - nor a release window in 2023 for when the series will premiere - but a rumor that circulated back in 2021 suggested that shooting would be complete by June 2022 barring any delays.
