The Last of Us Part 1 has been out for over a week, and while Naughty Dog's remake hasn't exactly set charts ablaze, those keen-eyed players who've found themselves back in the world of Joel and Ellie have been noticing the changes, additions, and alterations that the acclaimed studio has made from the original.
The latest noticing involves the brothers we've come to know over the two games, that of Joel and Tommy Miller. One Last of Us Part 1 player found something that lets us understand a bit more of Joel's childhood, discovering a letter Tommy wrote to his elder brother before the events of the game (thanks Gamesradar).

The player, who shared their finding on the The Last of Us subreddit, found the letter in Joel's house on a notice board. From the letter we hear about the pair's parents for the first time and discover a little more backstory.
The letter reads: "Hey Joel, I know I should be super psyched that I get to go to camp but I didn't realize how much I'd miss you. Anyway can't wait to see ya in a few weeks and tell mom I love her and let me know how your bike is coming together. Hopefully one day mom will let me ride it - doubt it. Love, Tommy."
Those blessed with good memories, as the PS3 title came out in 2013, or who might've just replayed the game on the PS4, may recall that Joel and Tommy went on a cross-country trip once, riding across America on Harley Davidson motorbikes, with Joel telling the story to Henry. So it's pretty neat this letter nods to that future with the reference to the bike. Seems like Tommy did eventually get to ride a bike, despite mommy Miller not being a fan of them.
