HBO released the official teaser trailer for The Last of Us, based on the smash video games from Naughty Dog. Fans have been waiting for the series ever since it was first announced the production house was taking on the beloved action-horror series about a post-apocalyptic world of mushroom headed zombies.

The series, based on the 2013 game by Naughty Dog, will feature HBO's first ever series adapted from a game and is a joint production also involving Sony Pictures Television, Playstation Productions, and Naughty Dog. It will see ten episodes written by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who also wrote and directed the original game and its subsequent sequel, The Last of Us Part II. The series, aside from Pascal and Ramsey, will feature Gabriel Luna as Joel's younger brother, Tommy, Anna Torv as Joel's smuggling partner, Tess, and Merle Dandridge as the resistance leader, Marlene. In the game, Joel, a man who has lost his child, teams up with Ellie, a girl without a family, who is immune to the cordyceps virus and possibly holds mankind’s future in her very blood.
