The Jackbox Party Pack series has been bringing friends and families together for all kinds of crazy mini-games that are played via input on mobile devices, computers, or tablets since 2014. According to the developers, there was an almost 1,000 percent increase in sales for the series from March to May 2020, likely due to the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdowns. Sales have leveled off since, but the series still has a strong player-base, so many fans were awaiting this announcement. While the mini-games contained within The Jackbox Party Pack 9 have been known since the end of August, a specific release date was not revealed until near the end of September.
