Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarök were the biggest winners at The Game Awards 2022, sharing 10 of the 32 available prizes at Thursday’s show.
FromSoftware’s Elden Ring scooped the coveted Game of the Year award, as well as Best Role Playing, Best Game Direction and Best Art Direction prizes.
Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarök won six of the 10 prizes it was nominated for including Best Narrative, Best Score and Music, Best Audio Design, Best Performance, Best Action/Adventure, and Innovation in Accessibility.
Final Fantasy XIV and Stray each won two awards, while Horizon: Forbidden West, which like Elden Ring had been nominated for seven awards, went home empty handed on the night.
Arcane: League of Legends also won the Best Adaptation award, a new category recognising creative work that authentically adapts video game IP to other media.
