The Sims 4’s new Lovestruck expansion pack is not only very romantic, it’s also pretty funny.
While the Lovestruck expansion pack is set to be released on July 25, Polygon had access to a press event and an early Lovestruck build where we were able to take a sneak peek at what’s to come. With everything from the return of the heart-shaped bed and romance preferences to sexy costumes and new WooHoo spots, here are the silliest things you can expect in the expansion.
Cupid’s Corner has everything you want in a dating app: awkward selfies, even more awkward chat with strangers, and the potential to find a date. Of course, there’s always a person holding a fish in their profile picture. The addition of the dating app makes it easier for players to find and set up interactions with other Sims — something that can be used for romance and chaos.
Maxis could never release a new The Sims 4 romance expansion pack without introducing a few more WooHoo spots. (That’s Sims-speak for getting freaky.) The two WooHoo spots I’ve found so far are geared toward Sims who are looking for an, uh, public display of affection: in a closet or on a picnic blanket.
On top of that, The Sims 4 also has a new item that’s basically a sexy costume trunk. There are plenty of options, including sexy wrestlers, cupid outfits, and an eggplant suit.
Have you ever had your heart broken so badly that you literally die on the spot? No? Then here’s your chance! There’s a new death in The Sims 4, which is getting so upset about having your heart broken that you simply cease to exist. In the trailer, Maxis showed the new death with a woman seeing her love interest kissing someone else — she then bursts into tears and drops dead before the grim reaper comes barging through the door. Yikes!!
The Sims 4’s new Create-A-Date system lets you easily set up and plan dates — more on that in another story! — but it’s also a mechanism for chaos. You can invite other people to join your date, meaning the whole polycule
