PlayStation dominated the news today between its State of Play showcase and the announcement that it would be suspending all sales in Russia due to the situation in Ukraine. We’ll start off with Sony’s recent State of Play broadcast which showcased several interesting titles from its Japanese partners. There were plenty of standout titles, but the highlight for many will likely be the announcement that Returnal is getting free DLC later this month. The “Ascension” update brings with it campaign co-op as well as a new survival mode that has Selene fighting her way through the Tower of Sisyphus - a clever name if you know your Greek mythology.

Game publishers across the globe have been showing their support of Ukraine by pulling their products from the Russian market. Sony is now the latest publisher to do the same, having announced that all software and hardware sales will be suspended and that even the PlayStation Store will be shutting in Russia. The publisher has also made a $2 million dollar donation to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to help victims affected by the war.
Gotham Knights was also in the news today as Warner Brothers has announced that the game will launch this year on October 25. The news was revealed via the official Gotham Knights Twitter account, so it’s pretty much locked in barring any delays. Several Warner Brothers properties have been delayed over the past year, with rumors that the upcoming Suicide Squad game is also getting pushed into 2023.
