Today is April 1, otherwise known as April Fools' Day. Perhaps the worst day of the year to be an avid social media user. As you scroll through Twitter, you'll need to use your better judgment to determine what is actually news and what's just a joke. Most of the time it's pretty obvious, but occasionally there will be something just convincing enough that it fools people into believing it's real.
Last year, the team behind Among Us got in on the April Fools fun by claiming its latest update included a mode that turned your crewmates into a horse. Not a regular-looking horse, but what appears to be a horse crammed into a crewmate's costume. In 2021, this bizarre horse mode was a joke. In 2022, InnerSloth has turned it into a reality.

That's right, Among Us has given us another look at its cursed horse mode this April Fools' Day, but this time, it's not a joke. Horse mode has been added to Among Us today and is available to play right now. Playing the mode will turn you and the other crewmates into the four-legged versions you can see below, and a neigh will play instead of the regular kill sound. The neigh comes courtesy of InnerSloth's Gary, who recorded it as a placeholder while the team tracked down a real horse noise before deciding Gary's was better. Great decision, by the way.
Other changes brought about by horse mode include a different kill animation and a limit to the cosmetics you can use. You'll only be able to equip your equine crewmates with visors and headwear because, well, they're horses. InnerSloth also warns some elements of the mode might be a little janky since it was only designed as a joke and will only be around for the day.
