In the Marvel Universe, few villains are more universally feared across the cosmos than Thanos, but his Eternal great-uncle Uranos might be even more terrifying. In a brand new preview for Eternals: The Heretic #1, Thanos comes face-to-face with his long-lost great-uncle, where it's immediately clear Uranos is even more hellbent on death and destruction than the Mad Titan himself.
Uranos the Undying first appeared inCaptain Marvel #29 by Jim Starlin. The Eternal was the catalyst for the Civil War between the race of ancient beings, as he wanted to destroy humanity, but his brother Kronos opposed him. After being defeated, the Eternals put Uranos into exile, where he's been kept for thousands of years. Uranos is the great-uncle to Thanos, as Kronos is the Mad Titan's grandfather. In the present timeline, Thanos will meet Uranos, as the Prime Eternal encounters the villain who is somehow more terrifying than him.

In a brand new preview for Eternals: The Heretic #1 (H/T AIPTComics) by Kieron Gillen, Ryan Bodenheim, Edgar Salazar, Chris O'Halloran, and VC's Clayton Cowles, Thanos laments about how meeting his parents showed him how weak his bloodline truly is. Druig offers Thanos the chance to meet his grandfather Uranos — the Mad Titan's great-uncle — with the Great Machine's narration even being too afraid to continue talking about him.
