A drone captured a massive fleet of Tesla electric vehicles from the Shanghai Gigafactory, presumably gearing up for quarter three exports. The factory was shut down for 22 days due to Covid lockdowns. When production got back up again, employees were required to sleep on the factory floor until the end of the lockdown. This was part of a closed-loop plan to comply with safety measures in the country. This has affected overall production for the company since it couldn't run its regular three shifts.
This month, Tesla was knocked off its throne as the largest EV seller worldwide. The Chinese company, BYD, dethroned it. Despite strict Covid lockdowns, the Chinese company saw a 315 percent year-on-year jump in sales, selling 641,000 vehicles. This is in comparison to the 564,000 sold by Tesla. This was a 46 percent increase from the previous year, but not enough to keep its crown.

Wu Wa, a YouTube channel focusing on Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory construction, posted a video of Tesla Model 3's at the Luchao Port Nangang Pier. The account said that according to the news, the EVs are headed for the European market. So, anyone waiting for their Tesla in Europe can get excited that their car is on the way. The video shows thousands of vehicles ready to be shipped to their owners. It looks like the factory is bouncing back from past delays.
Tesla will undoubtedly want to regain its name as the largest EV producer in the world. Besides the lockdowns in China, supply chain issues have also caused problems for the company. It expects those problems to continue during this year. On top of those issues, the company has also faced labor, manufacturing and transportation challenges.
