Tesla's Optimus SubPrime won't be complete until some time in 2023 at the earliest, yet a sneak peek of the humanoid robot will be given in just a few months, showing recent progress. It sounds incredible to think that the founder of the world's most successful electric car company and the most prolific space company might also launch the robot revolution. Also known as the Tesla Bot, this android will supposedly be the same approximate size, weight and shape as a human. The idea is to create an autonomous android that can travel through and occupy spaces designed for humans. The reasoning is that roads are designed for humans who use sight to drive, and an autonomous vehicle will perform best if it does the same. Therefore, a Tesla bot that is meant to fill the role that a human does should be able to climb stairs, fit through doorways and ride in a car.
