Tesla Offers Free Supercharging in Cities Around Ukraine
Around the world, companies are taking action to try and help Ukraine and/or hinder Russia. Tesla is no exception, and it's offering free electric vehicle recharging at cities around Ukraine.
As Electrek reports, Tesla sent out an email to Supercharger stations in Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary stating, "Beginning Monday, we are temporarily enabling free Supercharging for both Tesla and Non-Tesla vehicles at sites in areas impacted by the recent situation in Ukraine."
The first four stations to offer free recharging are:
Trzebownisko (Poland)
Košice (Slovakia)
Miskolc (Hungary)
Debrecen (Hungary)
The offer is an extra incentive to Tesla owners local to these stations to help refugees travel to a safe location, but it could also attract Tesla owners further afield to come help knowing they'll be able to recharge without incurring any costs once they get there.
Electrek also points out that Tesla vehicles have been imported into Ukraine over the past few years, so owners within the country can plan to escape the situation and head for one of these Supercharger stations for a top-up before continuing their journey. That's assuming they still have access to electricity at home to recharge before setting off.
