The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria has gone gold, or Mithril, as the team announced this morning, ahead of its October 24th PC launch. The survival crafting title is also showing off its Dwarf creator, and unveiled that actor John Rhys-Davies will voice the role of Gimli, who summons the Dwarves to the Misty Mountains.
The team released the game’s opening cinematic, which sets the stage for the journey and tasks ahead of you, and also introduces the return of John Rhys-Davies to the role of Gimli. Lord Gimli Lockbearer summons the Dwarves to form a company and reclaim treasures that were taken from their homeland of Moria. Your company of dwarves will head into Khazad-dûm, also known as Dwarrowdelf and the Mines of Moria, to recover some of these lost treasures and hopefully restore them.
You’ll be able to customize your own Dwarf to adventure into the mines. You can play solo or with others via online co-op. Every run you start will be different even as you work towards the same goal. The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria will send you into procedurally generated environments as you go deeper into the mines and make discoveries.
Since this is a survival crafting game, you can expect some crafting since you’re playing as some expert crafters, of course. The Dwarves will have to rely on their finely honed skills to make sure that everyone is ready to face the challenges and dangers that lie ahead. This means you'll have to gather the right metals and make armor and weapons that will let you protect yourselves and also succeed in taking on the challenges of goblins, spiders, or any other enemies in those deep mines.
Since the game has officially gone gold, it will release on October 24th on PC via the Epic Games
