Warning! Spoilers ahead for Suicide Squad #14
In the latest issue of DC Comics' Suicide Squad, it seems as though Task Force X will be recruiting none other than Lex Luthor to their ranks (and the timing couldn't be more perfect). Currently, Amanda Waller is no longer the director of the Suicide Squad, which means Task Force X is no longer a government-backed team. With the team entering the private sector and having their own free will, Lex Luthor joining could be the missing key they need to maintain their new status quo.
In the recently concluded War for Earth-3, Amanda Waller succeeded in her efforts to relocate to the darker version of Earth and replace its Crime Syndicate with her own Justice League. This has allowed her to truly save this alternate world like she never could with the primary Earth. As a result, Rick Flag, Peacemaker, Bloodsport, Ambush Bug, and more were sent back to Earth-0. The Squad is now back in Belle Reve Prison, the new Suicide Squad #14from Dennis Hopeless, Eduardo Pansica, and Júlio Ferreira sees Flag encouraging them to stay together despite the team no longer having to worry about the bombs in their necks going off. However, it seems as though government protocol was to blow up Belle Reve in the event the former Task Force X director went MIA.

Weeks later, Rick Flag has the Squad split up and working different missions, attempting to gain new assets such as heavy ordnance and a new Superboy/Bizzaro Clone seeing as how their last one stayed with Waller on Earth-3 to become her new Superman. However, most of the missions end up in failure or not being nearly as successful as they were meant to be by the issue's end. Undeterred,
