Legendary chess grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura has been banned from Twitch after streaming a chess match between Dr Lupo and Dr Disrespect. Herschel «Guy» Beahm, better known by his online alias Dr Disrespect, is a popular streamer who was permanently banned from Twitch back in 2020. While a lawsuit between Dr Disrespect and Twitch was settled amicably earlier this month, it appears that the battle royale streamer is still blacklisted from the live streaming service.
Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch in June 2020, and the exact cause for the streamer's permanent removal from the platform is still a mystery. Twitch has only explained that Disrespect somehow violated the platform's guidelines or terms of service, but his exact actions are unknown. Dr Disrespect has also alternated between stances on the matter, sometimes saying that he knows the reason for the ban and other times claiming to be unaware of the cause. Beahm took a month away from streaming following his ban from Twitch, but Dr Disrespect returned to YouTube in August 2020 and he currently hosts his streams on that platform.
