Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows players to use amiibo cards to bring some of their favorite villagers to their island. Normally, players acquire the amiibo card of the villager they like and use it to bring the villager to the campsite on their island. One player who was recently looking to spawn Marty the Cub, however, saw a completely different villager pop up in their Animal Crossing: New Horizons game.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released in March 2020 and is the fifth major installment in theseries. Amiibo cards are useable in multiple Animal Crossing games and can be purchased to spawn in a particular villager on the island, allowing players more control over who visits them and which Villager they are replacing from their island's lineup.

A Reddit post by u/hush-sh shows off an odd glitch they experienced while trying to use an amiibo card in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. As one would expect, the start of the clip shows the player using the Nook Terminal at Resident Services. The player uses the amiibo option at this location to bring the Cub villager Marty to their island as normal. The game acknowledges that a card is pressed to the NFC touchpoint on the player's Nintendo Switch, and the screen then goes white. Instead of Marty, however, the cat villager Bob appears on the screen. Not only is this the wrong villager, but Bob introduces himself as ‘!’ and is not wearing any clothes. After this shocking revelation, the clip ends with viewers stuck staring at this odd moment.
