Recently, one Pokemon fan shared a sprite animation featuring a combination of Magcargo and Torterra.
The tradition of creating Pokemon fusions has been around since the beginning of the franchise. It not only allows fans to explore their own creative impulses--it also reveals subtle design elements of the Pokemon style and pushes the boundaries of what gamers can expect from actual Pokemon titles. Some of these creatures have even appeared in Pokemon fan games.

Redditor KattenGamerKG shared a looping sprite animation that features a fusion between Magcargo and Torterra, presented in the style of the original Gen 4 Pokemon sprites. Torterra is the final evolution of Turtwig, one of the three starter Pokemon available in the Sinnoh region. Meanwhile, Magcargo is the evolution of Slugma, both of which were introduced back in Gen 2. With Torterra being a Grass/Ground-type and Magcargo a Fire/Rock-type, their fusion has a very striking appearance.
