While Static: Season Two approaches for a summer release, characters who originally appeared in the animated series Static Shock have been teased to show up, including Ebon and Rubberband Man. As Virgil Hawkins’ team of family and friends expands, the fan favorite superheroShe-Bang deserves to make her comic book debut.
Static: Season One saw the introduction of several characters who had first appeared in Static Shock. Many of both the heroes and villains from the animated incarnation of the Dakotaverse resemble their recent comic book counterparts, as designed by series artist Nikolas Draper-Ivey. From Richie Foley to Shiv and Talon, the cast is instantly recognizable to fans of the DC Animated Universe. With more characters teased to be on the way for the next season, the series is continuing to follow the legacy of Static Shock. Virgil’s team unites both family and friends over the dinner table at the Hawkins household in Static: Season One #6, written by Vita Ayala with art by Draper-Ivey. The panel teases at the growing dynamic, which could soon involve Adam Evans AKA Rubberband Man, who is referenced by Ebon in the issue’s last pages.
