One way to discover secrets is by doing something seemingly mundane: fishing! You'd be surprised how many things the waters of Stardew Valley are holding. We're detailing all of them in this article, though, so you won't be afraid of missing out!
To get this item, you must have chosen to have a Beach Farm at the beginning of the game. There's a hidden cave entrance next to the little pond in the far south, and following it will lead you to one square of land next to the water. Fish here to get the painting of a boat!
This Decorative Trash Can looks just like the Trash Cans in Pelican Town that you can scavenge through for trash (and treasures, on occasion), except you can place it wherever you want!
It's found by going fishing in that little fountain that's west of the Community Center. You may need to keep at it for a while, though, because you only have a 10% chance of getting it.

Then, in the northern part of the island, you need to reach the river and fish there. Not just any place on the river, though - you'll need to fish from that little grotto where you find a Golden Walnut.
