Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Discovery Season 4, Episode 8 — «All In»
The fateful poker game between Captain Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Cleveland Booker (David Ajala) in Star Trek: Discovery season 4, episode 8 raises the stakes of the Sabacc game seen in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Book has gone rogue in Star Trek: Discovery season 4 and the former courier has teamed up with Dr. Ruon Tarka (Shawn Doyle) to destroy the Dark Matter Anomaly. Book wants revenge because the DMA destroyed his home planet of Kwejian, but his confrontation with Burnham at a card table has ramifications that go far beyond Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) winning the Millennium Falcon from Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).
The story of how Han acquired the Millennium Falcon from Lando was first hinted at in The Empire Strikes Back and was part of Star Wars lore for decades before it was finally seen in Solo. As it played out in Ron Howard's 2018 film, Solo actually lost the first-ever Sabacc game he played against Calrissian after he tried to make the Falcon the prize of their game. Lando cheated to beat Han but, promised a cut of the profits, Calrissian joined Solo's team to steal coaxium and perform the Kessel Run anyway. Lando then fled with the Falcon and left Solo's group stranded on Savareen. Han and Chewbacca track Lando to Numidian Prime where they have a rematch Sabacc game in Solo's epilogue. This time, Solo deprived Calrissian of the trick cards in his sleeve and won ownership of the Millennium Falcon.
