Splatoon 3's emotes will let Inklings and Octolings dab and do the macarena, among other known dance moves.
Nintendo showed off the most in-depth look at Splatoon 3 yet as part of a Nintendo Direct yesterday, revealing details on its story mode, Splatfests, multiplayer functionality, and even a new weapon type. A smaller part of the presentation focused on Inkling and Octoling customisation, revealing that there are a ton more ways for your characters to express themselves this time around.

By far the most notable example of this newfound expression are the emotes. Around halfway through the Direct, Nintendo revealed that players can now choose which emote they perform at the end of a match, showcasing four options in the menu, including the default pose and two dances I'm clearly too old to recognise.
The Direct then showed that these emotes can be unlocked through a catalogue given to the player by Hotlantis General's Harmony. The next clip was where things got really interesting, as it was revealed that Inklings and Octolings will now be able to dab when they finish a match as one of the emotes available in the catalogue.
The pricing wasn't shown, but it looks like dabbing will be available in the game's very first catalogue, with more coming in later months. We were also shown what it looks like in-game when an Inkling dabs, during the section that went into more detail on amiibo functionality. Life will truly never be the same again.
