With the release of Splatoon 3 just over a month away, Nintendo has been sharing plenty of details about the highly-anticipated squid shooter. The upcoming sequel has already revealed a variety of new weapons coming in the third Splatoon game, as well as new multiplayer maps and mechanics. The game has even confirmed plenty of fan-favorite features from past games returning with Splatoon 2's popular «Salmon Run» game mode confirmed for the newest title. Now, Nintendo is gearing up to show off even more with a Splatoon Direct later this week.
The announcement of Nintendo's newest Direct comes as the first major update for Splatoon fans in quite some time. While social media accounts have remained active, Splatoon 3 has not received a new trailer since April when Nintendo confirmed the game's September release date. The Direct comes following other major reveals for first party Nintendo games with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Bayonetta 3 receiving trailers in the past month. Now, Nintendo is set to bring plenty of Splatoon 3 news, confirming a Direct is coming in just a couple of days.
Splatoon 3 to Include In-Game Purchases
Nintendo's newest Direct presentation is set to take place on August 10, slated for the developer's usual 6 A.M. PT start time. Nintendo's announcement for the Splatoon 3-themed Direct promises «roughly 30 minutes of updates» about the sequel during the livestream. The presentation will be Splatoon 3's first solo broadcast since its reveal with many fans of the franchise eager to see more of the game. Nintendo's official announcement did not reveal any specific details about the contents of the broadcast, outside of the generic «updates» descriptor.
