The third game in the iconic multiplayer franchise that sees teams try to paint the map in their color is one of gaming's most anticipated titles for September, and it's not only fans that are prepping for the game's launch. Nintendo has also been releasing new looks at Splatoon 3 in the lead up to its release.
The latest trailer for Splatoon 3 is a seven-minute in-depth gameplay look shared on Nintendo Japan's YouTube channel. First, the trailer begins with a montage of all the colorful chaos fans can experience in Splatoon 3, before diving into what the basic mechanics, game modes, new characters, and more will look like. Something that the new gameplay clearly puts a lot of focus on is the new weapons in Splatoon 3 and how each has their own way of taking out foes and painting the map.

There are three different weapon types in Splatoon 3. First, there's a player's main weapon, which they will use throughout the course of a match. These include the more basic paint guns from previous titles, including a couple of new additions made for the third game, including the Tri-Stringer, which is a bow that can fire three large globs of paint at once. For those who like to get up close and personal, another new main weapon is the Splatana Wiper, a window wiper that also doubles as a katana, firing off ink with each slash.
