Fans of Sony's PlayStation VR headset have been looking forward to the company's successor to the original device, the PS VR2, for quite a long time now, even though there's been precious little information about its release. The device received its initial announcement a while ago, and those who had the opportunity to give the original a try are eager to give the new headset a whirl, too.
Thankfully, this waiting game now has an end date in sight, as the company is finally sharing some concrete information about the gadget. Sony's Instagram account recently posted an official launch window announcement for the PS VR2, revealing that the headset will be getting released sometime in early 2023.

Even though VR is yet to enter mainstream gaming in a truly meaningful capacity, PlayStation is committed to quality PS VR experiences through and through. The company reiterated this dedication when PS VR2 was announced, describing its subsequent launch window as a «strategic opportunity» for PlayStation. Now that the official PlayStation Instagram has made the release window announcement, it's likely that Sony will be making a substantial VR push towards the end of 2022 to market its headset.
Earlier this year, Sony revealed the PS VR2 user interface, showing marked improvements compared to its immediate predecessor. The all-new See-Through View, for one, will allow players to easily and reliably see their surroundings without taking the headset off.
