We’re inching ever closer to the release of Sonic Frontiers. Dates are leaking, ratings coming from overseas, and now we’re finding out that Sega will be at EGX 2022 with a playable version of Sonic Frontiers.
The official EGX Twitter account has confirmed "@SEGA is coming to #EGX2022, and they want YOU to get the first UK hands-on of Sonic Frontiers." EGX will be at the ExCeL center in London, UK, from September 22 to 25. Tickets are available here.

Sonic Frontiers has been Sega’s main title for 2022, with gameplay reveals and interviews with the creators giving us a good sense of what Sonic fans are in for. After being teleported to a strange new world, Sonic must explore vast open fields, ancient ruins, and curious constructs in search of the Chaos Emeralds. All the trappings of a traditional Sonic game can be found in Frontiers, including bumpers, springs, and rails, but also new challenges such as open-world puzzles and massive boss enemies that protect the secrets of this mysterious land.
Since this world is almost entirely devoid of life, very few of Sonic's friends are featured in Sonic Frontiers. There's mention of Tails, Amy, Big, and of course, Dr. Eggman, and Knuckles is shown in the animated preview, but Sonic Team's Takashi Iizuka confirmed it was difficult to write in anyone other than Sonic. Pay attention to Sonic's lines, though, and you might hear a few big names dropped from the Sonic lore.
We might soon be getting a release date too. South Korea just gave Sonic Frontiers an all-ages rating, possibly hinting at an imminent release announcement. Or we could take the word of SteamDB, the Steam database monitoring site, which is saying Sonic
