Publisher 2K Games has revealed that customer information obtained during a recent security breach has been put up for sale.
The company has been contacting consumers whose data has been compromised since October 6th to let them know and that information such as their email address, gamer tag and console details have been stolen. 2K does add that it doesn't believe that passwords or financial information was stolen.
“However, out of an abundance of caution, we encourage all of our players to secure their accounts by resetting passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication if they have not already done so,” the company wrote.
2K's servers were hacked in late September, in which a third-party sent malicious links to consumers. The company has suggested that people who clicked this link reset their devices.
This is seemingly separate to the hack of fellow Take-Two firm Rockstar Games, which took place around the same time and saw over 90 in-development gameplay videos leaked online.
