Anyone who's played the game knows the importance of dragons in Skyrim. Not just mighty winged beasts that swoop overhead, they form a major part of the game's story. Many fans will remember their first encounter with one and how they felt when they realized they had to bring one down. They are majestic beasts, but they often turn up at the most inconvenient moments, as one player discovered.

In a recent post on Reddit, user TrevortheBatman shows that a dragon can turn up just about anywhere and at any time during a Skyrim playthrough. A brief clip shows the player being attacked by one of the creatures, but not while on the ground. This incident occurs at the start of the conversation with Meridia, at the start of a new side quest, during which the Dragonborn is lifted high into the air. However, that didn't seem to deter the flying scaly beast, which decided that right then was the perfect opportunity to begin an altercation, which meant TrevortheBatman had to fight the dragon while floating in the air.
