The highly anticipated Kung Fu title Sifu was released last week. The game certainly isn't for those who aren't ready for a challenge, as it has a high difficulty and steep learning curve, but that hasn't stopped it from doing very well at launch.
Those who have picked up Sifu in its first week will know that it is not as simple as some may have thought in the lead up to launch. The age/death counter systems, along with the steep learning curve, have made the game extremely challenging. Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive for the game, but there are those who are turned off by the high-level of difficulty. The combat itself is challenging in its own right, however, when combined with the aging system and a death counter that doesn't reset after each level, hitting end credits is extremely difficult for most players.
Sifu Beaten Without Taking Damage
Despite the challenging nature of the Pak Mei focused game, it has sold exceptionally well for a game of its size. Sloclap has revealed that the game has had more than 500,000 players in its first week alone. Sloclap isn't done with Sifu yet, with the developers promising DLC and updates in the future.
Sifu has already outsold Sloclap's previous game, Absolver, by roughly 200,000 copies. The number of copies that Sifu has sold in comparison to Absolver really showcase how well the developers have done on their latest release, and bear in mind that Absolver has been out since 2017, while Sifu has only been out for a week, and only on one platform.
