A recent report by 91mobiles highlighted that Samsung filed a patent application with the USPTO for a new smart ring that could hint at the possibility of a potential successor to the Galaxy Ring. The first model, displayed briefly at earlier events, supported a circular design with sensors in the inner layer. The Galaxy Ring 2 is said to have a different design and sport a squarish outlook, with the embedded sensor included in the inner side of the circular part.
The new smart ring's elliptical or oval design deviates from the usual circular design and could be an attempt to improve fit and make the ring more ergonomic.
