Move over Galaxy A32 5G, there's a new budget-friendly Galaxy phone in town.
Samsung on Thursday announced the Galaxy A23 5G, a $299.99 follow-up to the wildly popular Galaxy A32 5G. For the price, it comes with a number of features you might not expect, such as multiple cameras and an extra-large battery.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor, which should offer enough power for most entry-level smartphone buyers. It also supports 5G connectivity, making it one of the more affordable 5G phones in the US. You only get 64GB of internal storage, but as is typical with phones in this price range, the Galaxy A23 features a microSD slot that supports cards of up to 1TB.
Notably, the phone's 6.6-inch screen offers 2,220-by-1,080-pixel resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, specs that aren't too common among sub-$300 handets. It also has a multi-lens camera stack with a 50MP primary sensor. Samsung specifically touts an Advanced Portrait Mode for the camera that lets you capture high-quality images with attractive bokeh (background blur).
Rounding out the spec list is a 5,000mAh battery that should keep the phone running for quite some time. Samsung claims "super-fast" charging, but doesn't specify an exact speed.
The Galaxy A23 is available now directly from Samsung, as well as from AT&T and T-Mobile. Check back soon for our full review.
