British game developer Sumo Digital is celebrating Valentine's Day 2023 with a new DLC for Sackboy: A Big Adventure. The new holiday-themed content is free for all Sackboy: A Big Adventure players.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure is Sony and Sumo Digital's 2020 spin-off of the LittleBigPlanet series. Players once again take control of series protagonist Sackboy and guide him through a variety of platforming challenges as he adventures across Craftworld to save it from the villain Vex. It's the first game in the series to feature full 3D environments. Available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5, Sackboy: A Big Adventure saw an overall positive reception, earning Metacritic scores in the high 70s and low 80s. The game also won Best British Game and Best Family Game at the 2021 British Academy Awards.

Sumo Digital and Sony announced the new DLC pack over Sackboy and LittleBigPlanet's Twitter account on Valentine's Day. The small DLC adds a new Cupid Costume and Emote for players to use in the game. Developers previewed both with a short looping clip in the tweet. The announcement saw a mostly positive reception from LittleBigPlanet fans. However, some were curious whether Sumo Digital would add a Creative Mode or announce the rumored LittleBigPlanet 4.
The Cupid costume turns Sackboy pink, adds a mop of curly blonde hair to his head, and dresses him in an angelic robe that becomes a pillowy cloud around his legs. A quiver and a pair of wings complete the ensemble, while a Cupid's arrow through his head shows that Sackboy isn't just spreading the love but also feeling it.
