There are just a few more months left in this current generation for AMD, Nvidia, and newcomers Intel to leave a lasting impression on the GPU industry. Even with the chip shortages expected to go on until 2024, all three tech giants, or at least two of them, have not let it stop them from launching new products that cover all areas of the market. Of course, the speculations about what the new hardware will be like have already begun, but it's possible that the shaders of team red's flagship RDNA 3 may have been somewhat exaggerated.
That's according to a recent report from PC Gamer, which references a number of tweets from known GPU leaker Greymon55. Apparently, the Navi31, which could be used to power the AMD RX 7900 XT, may feature fewer shaders than was originally speculated. The leak suggests that it will have 12,228 as opposed to 15,360 which was what was previously rumored. Likewise, the Navi32 could have 8,192 shaders, while the Navi33 could have 4,096.

Given this, it's unlikely that AMD's flagship RDNA 3 card will have 92 TFLOPS as previously thought. However, the report does go on to say that it doesn't mean the upcoming graphics cards won't be powerful. It's already expected that the next offerings from both AMD and Nvidia could potentially show a significant leap in the technology. Of course, it's still early days, so there's no way to be sure about performance.
Alongside that, Nvidia's RTX 4090 Ti could have 100 TFLOPS, which would make it two and half times as powerful as the current 3090 Ti, at least in this regard. As the industry moves forward, it seems as though both of these tech behemoths are looking to flex their metaphorical muscles towards the latter parts of
