Silent Hill is once again a topic of frequent discussion in the video game industry, despite no games being announced. Rumor and speculation have driven the fandom for Silent Hill into a fervor, and Konami's hints of an upcoming announcement haven't helped the matter. Expect things to only get more unruly going forward, though, because a new leak appears to have revealed details about the oft-rumored Bloober Team Silent Hill 2 reboot project.
The leak, which has an unclear origin, features what appears to be a trio of three low-resolution Silent Hill 2 reboot screenshots. The screenshots all feature a third-person view of protagonist James Sunderland. In the first, he's standing in a room looking toward a messy desk and window. In the second, he's in a dark hallway lined with windows that provide a golden ambiance. The third screenshot shows a familiar Silent Hill 2 foe, as a nurse walks out from around a corner.

According to industry insiders, these are unfortunately not screenshots from an actively-in-development project. Rather, they're demo screenshots created for what's described as an internal pitch from Bloober Team. They're a proof of concept showing what a potential Bloober Team Silent Hill 2 reboot might look like in motion. That project has been reported to now be in development, of course, though it has not been officially confirmed or announced.
Even as a proof of concept, the low-resolution images provide a very healthy idea of what a modern Silent Hill 2 would look like.
