Games platform Roblox saw its revenue increase by 16 per cent year-on-year during 2022.
That's according to the company's financial report for the three months ending December 31st – which brings the fiscal year to a close – which show that it brought in $2.2 billion in revenue for the 12-month period.
Bookings rose five per cent to $2.9 billion, though Roblox has reported a net loss of $934 million, almost double the $504 million that it recorded during 2021. The company saw average daily active users hit 56 million, an increase of 23 per cent, while the number of hours spent in the game came in at 49.3 billion for the year – a 19 per cent rise.
For Q4, revenue was up two per cent to $579 million, with bookings showing a more healthy increase of 17 per cent to $889.4 million. Roblox saw 58.8 million average daily active users for 2022.
“2022 was a year of innovation and invention for Roblox,” Roblox founder and CEO David Baszucki said.
“With 65 million daily active users in January, we are driving towards our vision to reimagine the way people come together by enabling deeper forms of expression, communication and immersion.”
