Warning: This article delves deep into some of the main plot points of Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.Just as Ethan Winters' introduction as a main character was met with criticism by Resident Evil fans, Rosemary seems like a phoned-in character for the franchise. Her sole purpose in Resident Evil Village was to serve as a driving force for Ethan to continue his journey. Since she is his daughter, Ethan (and by default the player) is made to feel a connection to the cooing and crying baby. Rosemary's brief appearances throughout Resident Evil Village serve as nothing but reminders as to why players are doing what they are doing.
The end of Resident Evil Village has Rosemary all grown up and ready to take on the mantle of the lead protagonist of the series. With Ethan Winters' story now finished, Resident Evil Village's upcoming DLC, Shadows of Rose, will delve deep into his daughter's thoughts as she finds a way to rid herself of her mysterious powers. These gifts are being kept secret for now, but by looking at her heritage as well as other «gifted» individuals, it may be possible to guess just what Rosemary can do.
