When a video game is close to turning four years old, it is quite amazing to see reports of it still generating massive sales. Given how award-winning the Red Dead Redemption series is, there is no surprise for Take-Two Interactive to report that Red Dead Redemption 2 has already reached an incredible sales milestone. In its recent financial report, RDR2 has already breached 43 million copies sold worldwide.
Though many in theplayer base seems to have shifted to Red Dead Online, there is still a good chunk of the community who still enjoys replaying Red Dead Redemption 2. Despite Rockstar Games not providing any more updates for the title since its PC release, fans make do with user-generated content such as mods. It is likely that players prefer this, given how much freedom they can get when adventuring through the beautiful settings of RDR2. There are more options in point-of-view, visuals, gameplay, and more, which is why fans cannot seem to stop playing the video game.

In Take-Two Interactive's February 2022 financial report, the Red Dead Redemption series was highlighted in a dedicated slide. The company stated that the action-adventure series has sold over 65 million units around the world, while Red Dead Redemption 2 has reported to have reached 43 million units sold. The prequel title is also leading the pack in terms of profit, as the retail report shows it is the 2nd-best selling title in the United States in the last three years. This is likely due to how active the current RDR2 fanbase is.
Take-Two Interactive also highlighted the already announced titles it is launching in the next few years, which includes titles for Borderlands and Grand Theft Auto.
