Reba McEntire revealed that she wants Dolly Parton to play her in a biopic. McEntire hustled her way to becoming the Queen of Country over the span of a lengthy and lauded career. From climbing the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with over 100 singles to starring in various television shows and films, the powerhouse has bedazzled a place for herself on the fabric of pop culture. She's most recently been slated to sing Somehow You Do from the drama Four Good Days at the 2022 Academy Awards.
While appearing on the Audacy podcast, McEntire reflected on her career and upcoming Oscars performance. She also said she'd like fellow country music legend Dolly Parton to play her in a possible biopic. Check out her full response and reasoning below:
«Dolly Parton. She'd be funnier, prettier, sassier and everything more than me, so I think that'd be a hoot.»
McEntire received the question on the heels of Parton discussing how she'd love to see Tony-winning star Kristin Chenoweth play her in a hypothetical film or musical biopic. Parton has also said that she'd love to play the oldest version of herself in any production. McEntire's life certainly warrants a narrative. Though she starred in the hit sitcom Reba for 6 seasons, it wasn't actually based on her life.

Parton clearly has the prowess and vocal chops to tap into McEntire. Of course, she'll probably be too busy with her own biopic and seemingly endless mass of projects to sign on. There are currently no plans to turn Reba McEntire's life into a feature, but, should the concept take life, there'll surely be a line of performers hoping to be cast.
