Raven strike halted pending union recognition from Activision Blizzard

Worker organisation A Better ABK has halted a strike at Raven Software in hopes of having a union recognised by Activision Blizzard leadership.

In a post on Twitter, the Activision Blizzard King workers group said that the strike was being ended while it waits to see whether management recognises its union. This comes in the wake of staff at Raven Software voting to form the Game Workers Alliance union on Friday, January 21st.

A Better ABK has emphasised on Twitter that they are still waiting a response from Activision Blizzard management. Until that point,

"Pending the recognition of our union, the Raven QA strike has ended. Unused strike funds are being stored for future organizing/strike efforts," A Better ABK wrote.

This strike action started in December after Activision Blizzard laid off a number of QA workers at Raven Software. Over 200 members of staff walked out in protest of these layoffs.

Last week, Microsoft announced its intention to buy Activision Blizzard for a record $68.8 billion.
