A welcomed addition to Rainbow Six Siege is now live for players who are tired of falling victim to friendly fire. Players will want to think twice before enacting bad behavior against others, as the phrase “treat others how you wish to be treated” is taken to new heights in this Rainbow Six Siege update.
Unlike other popular FPS games, when a player dies in Rainbow Six Siege, they’re on standby until the match ends, rather than immediately respawn. This feature speaks to the tactical and competitive nature of the experience, although this can make malicious behavior satisfying for griefers who wish to cause havoc. However, this will no longer be the case thanks to the steps taken by Ubisoft to limit such bad behavior.

The official Twitter account for Rainbow Six Siege had shared updates for its controversial Rainbow Six Siege anti cheat software, but more importantly, news from its Player Behavior Team. The team updated the community on what would be known as the new Reverse Friendly Fire Reputation Penalty, which was implemented to reduce the impact of players shooting their own teammates. The update states that players with high numbers of friendly fire occurrences will receive a warning, which can be seen by other players, and that if players choose to continue friendly fire activity that the damage will be done to them instead. The RFF Reputation Penalty will continue for 30 matches, which will essentially force players to play respectively unless they want to be on the receiving end of their own abuse.
