Forge mode is perhaps the only thing that might breathe life back into 343 Industry's Halo Infinite. What was supposed to be one of Microsoft's flagship games now sees its player count dwindling due to the lack of new content. Constant delays to the much anticipated co-op campaign mode eventually resulted in it getting cancelled. It appears that 343 and Microsoft have put all their eggs in the Forge basket.
However, there is another Halo Infinite project in the works by support studio, Certain Affinity. While the studio hasn't announced what it is or when we'll see it, we can trust that it will be good, given all the previous Halo projects it has worked on. While the studio can't exactly reveal too much about what it's working on for Halo, founder and CEO Max Hoberman spoke with GamesBeat about what players can expect.

"The biggest thing we’re doing that’s public right now, for more than two years now we’ve been working on Halo Infinite doing something that–they’re very prescriptive about what we can say," said Hoberman. "But we’re doing something unannounced, and we’re doing lead development on that unannounced thing, from conception and design. It’s something big and new for the franchise. But I can’t say any more about it. That’s our single largest project of our three projects currently. We have close to 100 developers working on that."
