Agents of SHIELD showrunner Maurissa Tancharoen responds to rumors about the Marvel Cinematic Universe rebooting Quake. Over the course of Agents of SHIELD's seven season run, viewers saw Chloe Bennet's Skye transform into Daisy Johnson, the powerful Inhuman known as Quake. Since the series was originally conceived as being connected to the MCU movies, there has long been hope that a crossover would take place. Agents of SHIELD connected to the MCU movies in various ways, but none of their characters ever appeared in the films. This has not stopped rumors from circulating that this will change.
The returns of Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin in Phase 4 has only fueled speculation that Quake and other Agents of SHIELD characters could be seen again. One of the big questions lingering over this possibility is whether or not their returns will confirm the show's events to be MCU canon. While there is great divide within the fan community about what option is best, the common thought now is that Agents of SHIELD took place in another timeline as part of the multiverse. This would allow the MCU to soft reboot any Agents of SHIELD character without the restraints of the show's continuity but still use the actors.
