The PlayStation Future of Gaming showcase in 2020 gave fans their first looks at next-generation gaming. A wide variety of games were shown off during the presentation, but one that caught the attention of many fans was Stray, a visually-impressive PlayStation console exclusive where players take on the role of a cat. Stray was missing from the latest PlayStation State of Play event, leading some fans to worry that the game would miss its planned 2022 release date, but it seems those concerns were unwarranted.
Stray publisher Annapurna Interactive was apparently getting messages about Stray and the State of Play, and so it provided an update to fans by saying that the game is still set to come out in 2022. A more specific release date for Stray remains unavailable at the time of this writing, but if it truly is aiming for release in 2022, then hopefully fans don't have to wait all that much longer to learn exactly when they'll finally get to play it for themselves.

The last time fans got an extensive look at Stray was the Annapurna Interactive Showcase, which was held as part of the Summer Game Fest event last year. It was then when Annapurna Interactive showed off new Stray gameplay footage, reaffirming that the game is going to be a visual stunner whenever it does finally release.
