It's been four years since Patrick Soderlund left his executive positions at EA and DICE to form his own game development company, Embark Studios. So far, the new studio hasn't released any game yet, but it has previously said that it has several projects in development. While fans have already known that one of them is ARC Raiders, Embark has mostly kept mum about the other titles that it's currently working on. However, since ARC Raiders has recently been delayed, Embark is now ready to talk about its other game, which apparently is close to being finished.
In a recent blog post written by Soderlund, the CEO explains that other than finishing up ARC Raiders, his team is also currently working on a team-based first-person shooter codenamed Project Discovery. This new FPS had apparently gone under the radar, though, as Embark had actually shared a small tease showing some early footage of the game last year, just a month before ARC Raiders got its big reveal at The Game Awards 2021.
ARC Raiders Delayed to 2023
While the footage isn't giving out much, it does show characters being controlled from the first-person perspective. Fans can also see that the game is set in the present day or perhaps the near future, and concept art for Project Discovery posted on the blog seems to confirm that conjecture. Sadly, that's all there is to say about Project Discovery for now, but Soderlund promises to reveal more details about it very soon.
Although no release window is being dished out, the post hints about Project Discovery launching earlier than ARC Raiders.
