CodeMiko has revealed she will be one of the next major streamers to switch from Twitch to YouTube, amidst sweeping changes within the Amazon-owned platform. CodeMiko would join an ongoing trend of creators moving away from Twitch alongside high-profile streamers like Ludwig, LilyPichu, and Sykkuno, among others. Twitch's recently announced changes to its monetization model for top streamers has once again seen many of Twitch's biggest names considering making the jump. Now, CodeMiko looks set to join the YouTube ranks in the near future.
The reveal from CodeMiko came during a recent stream following her return from a vacation in Hawaii. During the stream, Miko discussed the ongoing changes and controversies with Twitch throughout recent weeks. The recently announced changes to monetization from Twitch, namely the move away from a 70/30 split for top talents, was cited as a major reason that CodeMiko is considering leaving Twitch. Miko also took issue with Twitch's policy regarding stream VODs where the platform continues to make money off ads on VODs without streamers being able to monetize their archives.

CodeMiko was quick to reassure fans that she would not be fully leaving Twitch anytime soon with the streamer intending to gradually migrate her content to YouTube. She cited YouTube's own 70/30 policy as a major factor in the move, alongside differing from Twitch in monetization policies with relation to videos and stream VODs. CodeMiko thanked Twitch for providing her with a platform and the visibility to grow her brand, but CodeMiko stressed that the work she does for her content «isn't 50/50.»
