Recently released spinoff Pokemon Legends: Arceus puts the spotlight on the titular legendary Pokemon, sending players back in time to the ancient realm of Hisui by the will of none other than Arceus itself. Of course, Arceus can eventually be caught in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, but achieving this requires fans to catch every other Pokemon available in Hisui. One fan, dissatisfied with doing all that work to only catch a single Arceus, came up with a rather unorthodox solution.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus revisits the Sinnoh region, which was based on the Japanese island of Hokkaido and first introduced in main series titles Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl. In a premodern version of Sinnoh called Hisui, players join up with the Survey Corps of Jubilife Village and work to observe and catalog all 242 Pokemon available in the region. In addition to returning Pokemon from several titles in the series, Pokemon Legends: Arceus also features regional variants and evolutions of previous Pokemon, such as Wyrdeer, a Psychic-type evolution of Generation 2's Stantler.

Recently, a free update to the Pokemon Home service gave players the ability to transfer Pokemon to and from Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, Pokemon Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. A Reddit user going by u/Billybobjoebob took advantage of this to transfer two additional Arceus into the game. As players are only able to catch a single Arceus in this title, the two Arceus must have previously been caught in either another Legends: Arceus save file or a different Pokemon game in which Arceus appears, such as Pokemon Diamond, Pokemon Pearl, their remakes, or even Pokemon GO.
