Munchlax is a Normal-type Pokemon introduced in the fourth generation of Pokemon games, Diamond and Pearl, and it is a pre-evolved form of Snorlax (otherwise known by fans as one of the «Baby» Pokemon). In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, patient players can find Munchlax very early on, and it's worth catching as having a Snorlax, later on, can prove to be beneficial for any battle team due to its high HP and defensive stats. Munchlax can be found in two areas in Pokemon Legends: Arceus:
Beginner Pokemon Legends: Arceus players will only have access to Deertrack Heights at first, so it might be best to look there instead of waiting for the Alabaster Icelands area to be unlocked. However, it's worth noting that Munchlax, at least in the Deertrack Heights area, is very rare to encounter, but it appears to have a higher chance of showing up in the nighttime instead of the daytime, but any time of the day should work.

For the exact location where Munchlax can spawn, players should head to the spot circled in red on the map below. It's a little bit northeast of the Heights Camp. Upon coming here first, players will either see Zubat, Kricketot, or other wild Pokemon. If Munchlax doesn't appear, players should either defeat the surrounding wild Pokemon spawns, or scare them away using the Scatter Bangs item.
Just make sure that the Pokemon are gone from the area, and then go back to camp, change the time of day, and head back to the Munchlax spawning point. Keep repeating this process until Munchlax shows up --it's really up to chance and RNG at this point.
