The spooky season is upon us and Pokemon Go has announced the first part of its upcoming Halloween event which is set to begin on October 20 10am local time, running through until October 27 10am local time.
In a new post on the official Pokemon Go website (thanks Serebii), several new additions coming to the game have been detailed, including the introduction of Mega Banette as well as Shiny versions of both Noibat and Galarian Yamask. In addition to both of those Pokemon, 7km eggs also have the possibility to hatch into Goletts or Phantumps. Wild encounters also have a spooky theme, as you'll encounter Pokemon such as Gastly, Dusclops, Sableye, Misdreavus, and a heck of a lot more Ghost-Types on your travels.

As for Raids, One-Star Raids will include Pokemon such as Sableye, Purrloin, and both Yamasks while Three-Star Raids will include much more powerful 'mons such as Gengar, Umbreon, and Drifblim. The subject of this event's Five-Star Raids will be Altered Forme Giratina, which also has the possibility to be Shiny.
If that isn't spooky enough for you, you'll be interested to know that there are several new items for your avatar in the in-game shop to get you in the Halloween spirit. For example, you'll be able to cosplay as a Dusclops thanks to a new costume and headwrap, while there's a cute set of Zubat ears for those not wanting to get fully dressed up. To cap it all off, the Spooky Pose found in the game's shop has been adjusted with movement, allowing you to shamble your way to all your new Pokemon, and the Lavender Town music will play during the night.
