This week marks the beginning of Niantic's Pokemon GO Steel-type event which will bring multiple changes to the mobile AR title like inflated spawn rates for Pokemon of the typing, and a fresh face to the game. The update may entice lapsed Pokemon GO players to return to the mobile game, especially if they have an affinity for Pokemon such as Aggron or Metagross.
Pokemon GO Fest 2022 wrapped up at the end of August, and the event brought the Unown alphabet for Gen 2 fans to capture alongside multiple Ultra Incursions in addition to a plethora of items and boosts. Outside big things for players like GO Fest, Community Day, and the Kanto/Johto tours, Niantic also sprinkles smaller events like the Steel-type one throughout the mobile game's calendar year. Niantic has confirmed that Pokemon GO's Steel-type event begins today, and it runs until September 27, giving Pokemon fans one week to capitalize on the arrival of two Ultra Beasts, a Mega upgrade to an existing Pokemon, limited Time Research, and more.
