Niantic, the developer of Pokemon GO, is the creator of the Niantic Sustainability Campaign, which strives to encourage people to combat climate change and make environmentally sustainable choices. As part of the campaign, Pokemon GO will be hosting the Sustainability Week 2022 event, which will give gamers plenty of opportunities to catch new Pokemon and earn rewards.
The event will run from 20 April to 25 April, and not only will there be several Pokemon to encounter, but gamers will also be able to make an ecological impact. On 23 April, Niantic will plant a tree for every Pokemon Trainer who travels more than 5 km (3.1 miles). For players looking to catch rare Pokemon, plant trees, and get some exercise, Pokemon GO's Sustainability Week 2022 event is not to be missed.
Pokemon GO Fans Should Mark April 26 On Their Calendars
The event begins at 10:00 am local time on 20 April, and it will run until 08:00 pm local time on 25 April. During this time, players will get 2x bonus XP from spinning PokeStop for the first time. Pokemon Trainers should be on the lookout for rare Pokemon to catch. Oranguru, a Normal/Psychic Pokemon introduced in Generation 7, will be making its debut in Pokemon GO, and the shiny version of Cherubi will also be appearing for the first time in the game.
Players will have a greater chance of encountering the following Pokemon in the wild: Grotle, Oddish, Grimer, Turtwig, Trubbish, and Ferroseed. Lucky Pokemon Trainers may also encounter Phantump, shiny Venusaur, and shiny versions of all the aforementioned Pokemon except for Grotle.
